We came across many crypto presales that have grandiose objectives. But when we scrutinized the role of its native token, we often found few use cases. This is an important distinction to make as a presale investor. If the token doesn’t have any real-world utility, why would people buy it? Crucially, the only motivation would be speculation. 

Evaluate the Starting Market Capitalization

It’s also important to evaluate the presale project’s market capitalization. Some investors prefer presales with a low valuation. The reason is simple: small-cap cryptocurrencies have the potential to grow exponentially. 

A significant inflow of new buyers is not required. On the contrary, even low levels of buying pressure can result in sizable gains. 

• However, this isn’t the case with large-cap cryptocurrencies. For example, Bitcoin was valued at over $1 trillion at its peak. 
• For Bitcoin to grow by 10x, its market capitalization would have needed to reach $10 trillion, requiring substantial capital inflows.

We’ve established that crypto presales are attractive for the huge upside potential available when it is first listed on a decentralized exchange. However, they’re also inherently risky. Make sure you consider the following risks before proceeding.

Token price declines will result in financial loss 

Crypto presales are like investing in small-cap stocks. If you’re fortunate enough to pick a startup that becomes a large-cap behemoth – you’ll make sizable gains. But most small-cap stocks fail to deliver – leaving investors with double-digit percentage losses.
